Sonodyne BMS205 Bass Management System

Both stereo and multichannel audio monitoring in studios or in the home require effective bass management. This means channelling low frequency effects (LFE) to a dedicated .1 channel while removing that very content from the other channels.

The BMS205 uses a 28/56 bit, 50 MIPS Audio DSP to do just that and more. Not only can you filter LF (at 3 crossover settings) from the main channels to the LFE channel but you can also derive an LFE signal from the L, R, while keeping the L, R, in either filtered or full range modes. Additionally, a summed mono output is available so that an external subwoofer crossover may be employed. These features are detailed in the table below.

All 6 channels feature Level Trims (+- 6dB) and “Mute”. A Master Level control and Master Mute are also available. All I/O are balanced XLR and processing is done in full 56-bit, double-precision mode, resulting in excellent performance. The internal EEPROM can remember the last setting. The BMS205 is a slim rackable 1U device that will also sit neatly on your desktop.

The SM50Ak can be used with the SLF210 Sub Woofer for 2.1 and 5.1 applications.
